  • Wrangler JK Interior - BedRug Liners

BedRug Liners Reign In Form and Function

BedRug liners are some of the best aftermarket floor liner replacements for the Wrangler JK. In terms of durability and ease of maintenance, BedRug reigns superior. BedRug's original BedRug Premium Carpet floor kit is offered for both the Jeep Wrangler JK and JK Unlimited. This kit gives you the look and feel of a premium carpeted interior -- without all the downsides of OEM carpet! For example, BedRug Carpet is resistant to mold and mildew. As any Jeep Wrangler owner knows, water and moisture soaking into OEM carpet can result in a dirty, moldy mess. This is true even with hard-top models.

    The Benefits of BedRug Liners

On older CJ's and early generation Wranglers, the answer to this problem is the removal of the factory carpet set and addition of a spray or roll on bedliner product. However, some owners may not like the roughness of bedliner. Some may have reservations about scuffing up the inside of a brand new $45,000 vehicle during preparation and install. Also, depending on the prep work, the bedliner may not adhere correctly to the tub. The Jeep usually needs to sit for several days for the bedliner to cure properly. Add in the fact that the entire interior needs to be removed, the dash taped off and the metal sanded down. All in all, you're looking at a sizable project.

    BedRug Liners-Premium-Carpeted-Front-Floor-Kit-Rear-Seat

The benefits of BedRug are that the seats do not have to be removed, so install is a snap. The material, featuring a ¼ inch polypropylene foam layer and heat shields, dries quickly after getting wet. This is very useful for those unexpected rain showers when driving with the top down, or for when you want to wash the BedRug. This product is 100% waterproof and is custom molded to fit the interior on your Jeep. BedRug is also available for the Jeep CJ-7, YJ, and TJ, in addition to the latest generation Jeep JK and JK Unlimited (shown here).

    BedTred Liners Are Removable

BedRug BedTred LinersIf the carpet set isn't for you, or if you still want that rough and tough bedliner feel, check out BedTred, also by BedRug. This product gives you the spray-in bedliner look, without all of the hassle. BedTred is also custom molded to fit your interior, is easy to install and remove, and is 100% waterproof. BedTred will never stain or mold, and is resistant to harsh chemicals. This means you can remove BedRug after a day on the trails and hose it down, no worries! Featuring ¼ inch thick polypropylene foam and heat shields, BedTred is made to last, and also dampens road noise!BedRug Liners

BedRug Liners Give You Affordable Flexibility

So whether you like the look and feel of a premium carpet set or the toughness of the classic bedliner style, BedRug gives you affordable flexiblity. Offered in front, rear, or complete sets, both BedTred and BedRug kits can be ordered for the classic body style CJ-7, YJ, and TJ, and the new Jeep Wrangler JK and JK Unlimited. It's a sturdy low-maintenance solution for all of your off-road adventures.  Shop now!

  • Dirty Dog 4x4 - Cargo Netting

Dirty-Dog-4x4-Netting-5pc-Kit-Jeep-Wrangler-JKUFor the average Jeep owner, taking the top off is one of the first things that comes to mind. However, if there are pets or small children as passengers, or if you've got cargo in the back of your Wrangler, the open nature of a topless Jeep is risky. But you can easily reduce the risk by throwing on a cargo net by Dirty Dog 4x4! These cargo nets come in a variety of colors, and are available for the Jeep Wrangler JK, JK Unlimited, TJ, and YJ.

    Benefits of a Cargo Net

DirtyDog-4x4-Netting-3pc-Kit-JKU-Gray-Jeep-WranglerA cargo net allows for the complete open-air Jeep experience while providing safety in the form of heavyweight polypropylene straps, re-enforced stitching, and black anodized grommets. The Dirty Dog 4x4 netting can be left in place with the hard or soft top on. These cargo nets are quick and easy to install, without the need of any additional brackets or mounting equipment.

    Dirty Dog Patterns and Colors

The side-window netting can be ordered in either the "spider" or regular patterns. The overhead and rear window netting is the standard, squared off pattern. Also, the overhead, side, or rear window nets can be removed while leaving the others in place. This is perfect for securing the rear cargo area while leaving the space above the front two or four seats open, or vice-versa!DirtyDog-4x4-Netting-3pc-Kit-JK-Red-Jeep-Wrangler

    Cargo Netting Styles

Not only can you choose colors and cargo net patterns for your Jeep, but Dirty Dog also offers the netting in rear-only, front-only, or full-kit options. So you don't have to buy a whole kit to get just the front cargo net. These cargo nets add solid protection and functionality to your Jeep with the top down. And they also prevent cargo from scratching or pressing against your soft-top side windows. Dirty-Dog-4x4-Cargo-Pet-Divider-Black-Jeep-Wrangler-JK

    Dirty Dog Pet Dividers

Another great product from Dirty Dog 4x4 are cargo net pet dividers for the Jeep Wrangler JK/Unlimited. These pet dividers are offered in a few different configurations. • Wrangler JK - Performance Options

When upgrading your Jeep, check out these performance options. Engine upgrades, exhaust kits, air intakes and more are just as important as flashy LED light bars or high-dollar lift kits. Don't let the performance of your vehicle suffer. With lift kits and larger tires comes decreased vehicle performance. Your JK will accelerate slower and have a lower top speed with inappropriate gearing and inaccurate shift points, for example. Fix these problems with the following performance options, perfect for bringing that pep back from your Wrangler's OEM days!

Performance Options To Get You Back on Track

From the factory, your Wrangler JK seemed to have it all. Great acceleration and top speed for an SUV, decent fuel economy, merging and passing power on the highway, and more. Fast forward six months and you've added a lift kit, 37's, armor, a winch, and loads of accessories. The OEM pep and power from the V6 3.6L just doesn't seem like it used to. Furthermore, the transmission seems to shift at odd times, and the RPMs feel like they're a tad too much for highway travel. The performance of your vehicle has fallen. With just about any vehicle, if you change enough of an OEM equation, you'll feel it in the performance of your ride. The following is a list of performance upgrades we recommend for the Wrangler JK, to get your build back on track!

    Superchargers: Magnuson or Sprintex?

For superchargers, we recommend Magnuson and Sprintex. The Magnuson supercharger will give you 80-100 more HP, and is sure to bring back the lost OEM performance on your JK or JKU. A Magnuson supercharger will also net you a 60-70 ft/lb of torque gain. This supercharger is a powerful and reliable option for your Wrangler JK. Starting at $5,695.00, pictured above.

The Sprintex supercharger, pictured below, is another great option. Starting at $5,495.00, this product includes a tuner for your engine and transmission shift points, and pegs up to 302 WHP and up to 307 ft/lbs of torque. Sprintex is a great company, and we highly recommend these products. If you're trying to restore lost power and don't want to invest in a V8 engine swap, a Magnuson or Sprintex supercharger may be for you.

    Air Intakes

An aftermarket air intake kit can vastly improve upon the airflow from the OEM setup. Moreover, this upgrade usually gains you around 8 horsepower and 10-12 ft/lbs of torque. Coupled with an engine swap or supercharger, or even on an OEM engine, an aftermarket air intake helps you make the most of your Jeep. The engine will pull air more efficiently through an aftermarket intake. This translates to better fuel economy and power for your Wrangler. Starting around $300.00, we recommend Banks (pictured above), Airaid, AFE, and more!

    Exhaust Kits

An aftermarket exhaust upgrade is great for the Jeep with an old or rusted exhaust system, or for those looking to squeeze just a little more power from the engine. Choose from several cool and unique exhaust tips. Upgrade your OEM single pipe to the classic "dual exhaust" setup, and more! We recommend Borla, Gibson, AFE, and Banks. Starting at $338.87, an aftermarket exhaust kit will give your Jeep that deep exhaust tone you've always wanted, while helping improve your power and efficiency. Perfect for stock builds to show Jeeps, and more!

    Gear Sets: Yukon or Alloy?

Gears are a performance upgrade often overlooked by most Jeep owners. An expensive upgrade, gears are the best option, bar an engine swap, for restoring lost power to your Jeep. That being said, gear ratios can look complex to one unfamiliar with Jeeps or vehicles in general. We recommend and carry Yukon and Alloy USA gear sets. These gears go inside the differentials on the Jeep Wrangler JK. Aftermarket differential gears will help your engine pull through the transmission gears more efficiently. Furthermore, a gear ratio change will bring your Jeep back to OEM specs with RPMs on the highway, and more. This translates to not only better fuel economy on the highway, but better power around town!  Stay tuned for our Gear Ratio blog post and tire size/gear chart.

Programmers To Unlock Your Hidden Potential.

If we're talking modern vehicles like the Wrangler JK, we need to cover programmers. Gone are the days of simple electronic fuel injection (EFI) or carburetors in Jeeps. Now even a simple gear ratio change may cause the on-board computer to enter "limp mode" or another similar emergency function. While on-board computers are more complicated than ever, don't let that ruin the fun or possibilities with upgrading your Jeep! Aftermarket programmers can help the Jeep adjust to gear ratio changes, set shift points, correct the speedometer gauge, and more! We recommend AEV and Superchips. Starting at $170.00, aftermarket programmers can unlock your Jeep's hidden potential at the push of a button!

Which Performance Upgrade Is Right For You?

While there are more upgrade options than ever for your Wrangler JK, we believe that these are the cream of the crop. We have installed or worked with each of these products in our shop, and readily recommend them for your build. If you're still unsure which performance upgrade is right for you, give us a call today, we're glad to help you choose the right product for your build. See you on the trail!

  • Wrangler JK - Leather Upgrade Options

We get a lot of questions about leather upgrade options for the 2007-2017 Wrangler JK. New Wranglers purchased off the lot often come with cloth seats. And used Jeeps come with cloth seats or worn factory leather. So we recommend Alea and Katzkin high-quality aftermarket leather upgrades. Both brands offer superior lasting performance and a more luxurious, timeless appeal.

    Alea: The Exceptional Leather Upgrade!

Alea is our first brand choice in aftermarket leather upgrades. The name stands for Automotive Leather Eleganza Atelier. And it refers to the production methods and quality of leather supplied to the automotive aftermarket.

Alea leather is Grade A Italian automotive leather featuring German OEM-approved Serafil airbag threading. Naturally, it is airbag tested and approved. Alea uses the PFAFF Docuseam Sewing System that ensures the airbags deploy unhindered in an accident.

We believe Alea's quality and craftsmanship are exceptional. You can purchase two grades in Alea leather--Verona or Nappa. And these fully-customizable kits feature a 3-year, 36,000-mile warranty.

    Alea Factory Style Leather

Alea Factory Style Leather Seats with custom logo

Alea offers a factory-style interior leather set pictured above. You can match several factory colors, including khaki, slate grey and dark saddle. You also have the option to add Official Jeep logos to this package. The sleek factory style leather kit starts at $1,099.00.

    Alea Prestige Leather Upgrade

Alea Leather Upgrade - Prestige Front Seats

If you like a more traditional style, consider the Alea OEM color-matched Prestige. The diamond-tufted pattern front seats are shown above. And rear JKU diamond-tufted seats are pictured below. The Prestige leather set adds--well--a prestigious touch to any build. You can choose a two-tone or single color, and add headrest logos to both front and rear seats. The Prestige line starts at $1,849.00.

    Alea Leather Upgrade - Prestige

    Alea F-1 Leather

If you gravitate toward a modern style, we recommend the Alea F-1 cross-bar design, shown below.  You can select from a variety of contemporary colors for a two-tone splash, or a striking single color. The Alea F-1 set is airbag compliant, and warranty specifications apply. Add custom logos to truly personalize your interior. Pricing starts at $2,950.00.

How About A Katzkin Leather Upgrade?

    Katzkin Two-Tone Leather Upgrade

Katzkin has been around for over 30 years. They produce high-quality aftermarket leather interiors for a variety of popular brands, like Chevrolet, Honda and Ford. Katzkin also exclusively supplies leather to Shelby American, Inc., of performance car fame.

You can choose from OEM patterns pictured above, and the distinguished Ostrich pattern pictured below. Select two-tone colors and colored stitch options with custom logos for a distinct pop.

    Katzkin Ostrich Custom Leather Upgrade

    Bonus Add-on

While upgrading, we recommend you consider adding seat heaters. You can turn them on to extend your topless season. And you can enjoy topless nights and cold winter drives much more.

    Showtime Envy

Regardless of whether you choose an Alea or Katzkin aftermarket leather set, Jeepers you will envy you everywhere you go.

Call us for a FREE leather upgrade consultation. We'll help you pick the best leather set for your Wrangler and your budget. And we'll make sure you get a superior leather upgrade and install. Alea and Katzkin ship FREE from RubiTrux.

If you're in town, stop by and we can show you several aftermarket leather upgrades on our lot.

  • 2017 Hypergreen JKUR Build Review

We built one of the first 2017 Hypergreen Jeep Wrangler JK HEMI conversions right here in Boone, North Carolina in late 2016! Not only did we grab a four door JKU, we also chose the Rubicon package. This Jeep is a truly unique build, and one that showcases just how wild your build can be. With a 6.4L HEMI and 38's, this JKU will turn heads around town or on the trail!

2017 Hypergreen JK Unlimited Rubicon: Gone Wild!

    Stock 2017 Hypergreen JKUR

This Jeep started life as an OEM JKUR, seen above. Since this was our first 2017 Hypergreen HEMI conversion, we knew it couldn't stay stock for long. So we chose a standard RubiTrux LCOG build as our starting point, and the build took off from there. In case you're a new reader, an LCOG build features a short lift (usually around 2-3" or so) with large tires, normally 35-37's. And with a lower center of gravity, the Jeep is less likely to roll over on the street or trail. With high clearance fenders, the Jeep can run tires a size or two larger than those typically recommended for that given lift height.

So for the lift kit, we chose an AEV 3.5" lift. The tires are 38" Toyo Open Country M/T's mounted to custom painted Spyderlock Wheels. We added Poison Spyder Fender Flares to allow the 38's to flex on just 3.5" of lift. They also protect the sheetmetal and wheel wells of the Wrangler.  Since the Jeep is closer to the ground, we chose to install Poison Spyder front and rear bumpers with Line-X coating. The front features a Poison Spyder Brawler Lite Bumper. Housed within the Bumper is a Warn Zeon 10s Winch for recovery. The rear features a Poison Spyder rear bumper and tire carrier, shown below.

    2017 Hypergreen JKUR Tire Carrier

For those finding the Jeep just a bit tall, we also installed a set of RSE Rock Step Sliders, which go well with the Poison Spyder bumpers and tire carrier. These steps are handy in that they fold out when the door opens, and tuck back inside the rock slider when the door closes. This is an ideal upgrade for owners more used to a low car or CUV than a Jeep.

2017 Hypergreen JKUR Rock Slider Steps

    Lighting Upgrades

For lighting we chose a 50" Rigid Industries Midnight Edition LED light bar, coupled with a pair of Rigid Midnight Dually Pods. These blacked out LED lights accent the Hypergreen body color very well. And they also go well with the black fender flare accents, bumpers and tire carrier on this build. As for headlights, we chose JW Speaker Evolution 2 Series LED Headlights and paired them up with a complete set of Recon Smoked LED Taillights and Turn Signals. A set of Baja Designs Squadron XL Pro lights are also fixed to the front bumper, for additional off-road lighting options.

    2017 Hypergreen JKUR Lighting Upgrades

    Interior Upgrades

The OEM dash, door panels and accents remained OEM for this build. However, we did add an Alea F-1 Leather upgrade for the seats, and an Alpine X009-WRA Restyle Headunit. The new headunit not only gives this Jeep a larger touch-screen for navigation. But it also displays useful information like tire pressure and engine codes.

    2017 Hypergreen JKUR Hemi Conversion

Last but not least, we've got the 6.4L HEMI conversion and Tactical Tops Hardtop! The Hardtop, with full Line-X coating, gives this Jeep a unique, fastback look, matching the Line-X covered bumpers and rock sliders. The 6.4L HEMI Conversion puts out 470-500 horsepower, and up to 500 lb/ft torque! The HEMI fits this Jeep much better than the OEM 3.6L V6, and turns the 38's with ease!

  • Bestop Replacement Tops

If you own a Jeep Wrangler with a soft top, chances are you will need a top replacement every 5-7 years. Sooner or later, the OEM soft top will rip, tear, or just fall apart. It's the nature of the beast, especially if the vehicle is kept outside or in a damp climate. When replacing OEM soft tops on your Jeep Wrangler, we recommend Bestop. For more than 60 years, Bestop has been Jeep enthusiast's top choice for CJ and Wrangler replacement and aftermarket tops. If you're looking for a top quality replacement for your worn out OEM top, here are your best options.

Bestop - The Top Choice for Soft Top Replacement

First up is the Trektop. The Trektop is the popular "frameless" top that gives your Jeep a fastback style look. The Trektop also converts to a safari style top, and can store the windows in the top "deck" of the top when not in use. The Hybrid Soft Top Version, called the Trektop Pro is pictured above. This version is made of Twill and has hard windows and supports, like the OEM hard-top, but gives the appearance and function of a traditional soft top. The regular Trektop NX is seen below. The NX top is made of Sailcloth and like a traditional OEM soft top, it has no plastic supports or glass windows. Both tops give your Jeep a unique look, with top-of-the-line Bestop quality! Prices range from $679.99-$1599.99. Standard and Twill Trektops qualify for a mail-in Bestop $50-$100 Rebate through March 31, 2017. See individual product pages for more details.

    BesTop Trektop

Twill vs. Sailcloth: A Material Difference

This is a common question we get. What is the difference between Twill and Sailcloth? Twill is a heavier, softer fabric, while Sailcloth is much like a standard OEM soft top. Twill is a close match to the MOPAR Premium soft top, and has a much darker tone than Sailcloth. Sailcloth is a more rigid fabric, and is usually a few shades lighter than Twill. Because of this, Twill will dampen more noise than Sailcloth (weight: heavier fabric vs. lighter fabric.) Sailcloth is the more economical of the two, coming in at a lower cost. But, if it's in your budget, we recommend the Twill. The higher quality and heavier fabric will last longer, and will quiet down your ride a bit as well! See the two color differences below. Trektop Pro Twill is on top, and the standard Trektop made of Sailcloth is shown beneath.

    Bikini Top

The Bikini top is the perfect choice for summer. Shown below with the duster (rear trunk area cover) and winjammer (clear rear window). These accessories are ideal for the warm months when you may want some protection from rain showers, but don't want to run a complete soft or hard top. Bikini Tops are available for a variety of Wrangler models, and both 2 and 4 door Wrangler JK/U models. Pricing starts at $59.99.

    BesTop Bikini Top

    Replacement Tops

When it comes to completely replacing your worn out OEM soft top, we recommend the Bestop Supertop. If you're on a budget, check out the Replace-A-Top! The Supertop is made to OEM specs, while the Replace-A-Top is made from high quality sailcloth. These tops are available in a variety of colors depending on the model, and with or without tinted windows. Pricing starts at $799.99 for the Supertop and $520.99 for the Replace-A-Top. See the Replace-A-Top shown below.

    BesTop Replace-A-Top

    Top-Of-The-Line Soft Top Replacements

If you're looking to replace your worn out factory soft top, or making the switch from an OEM hard top to a soft top, Bestop is simply your best choice. These products are top-of-the-line and top choice for CJ to JK owners everywhere. From complete replacement tops to bikini tops, Bestop has an ideal solution for you. Check out other Bestop products here. Take advantage of the rebates and FREE Shipping to score a great deal on a summer top! Rebates end March 31, 2017.

  • Maximus-3 Accessories

Maximus-3 manufactures its first-class accessories for the current Wrangler JK platform at their U.S. factory in Detroit, Michigan. From bumper hoops to tire carriers, lighting brackets and roof racks, we're impressed with Maximus-3 products' eye-catching style and sturdy off-road qualities.

    Maximus-3 Bumper Stinger Hoop

Striking Style With Rugged Off-Road Ability

Above you'll see a MOPAR 10A Hard Rock bumper. This bumper has been outfitted with Maximus-3 (M-3) accessories. These parts retain the OEM feel of the bumper while giving the Jeep that perfect, off-road capable look. First up, the bumper hoop. Offered in a variety of styles, a bumper hoop will protect your grille and winch. Pictured is the Stinger Hoop variant. Also shown, a Red Winch Hook Anchor and Fairlead perfectly match the factory tow hooks. This keeps the hook from the Warn Zeon winch secure when not in use.

If a stinger isn't for your build style, check out these two options. The M3 Classic Hoop, pictured above, is a lower profile hoop designed to protect your fog lights and grille while off-road. The sturdy design and sleek powdercoating match the factory bumper, much like the M3 Stinger! Want a hoop with a slightly different bend? Check out the X-Style Hoop, pictured below. The X-Style features a more rounded bend in the hoop, if the sharper angles of the Classic Hoop aren't for you.

  • 2016 Review - Rhino JKU

    custom-jeep-wrangler-rubicon-rhino-jw-speaker-8700-j-headlightsRhino JKU - 2016 Review

This week we're taking a look at another one of our 2016 builds, the Rhino JKU. Rhino was a new factory color for the 2016 model Jeep Wrangler JK. The Rhino color is unique and intriguing in that it appears to shift colors more than other factory Jeep finishes. Depending on the lighting, Rhino can appear to be nearly black, anvil, or a dark gray. In reality, Rhino is more of a blue-gray color, and styles well with black accents and accessories.

This Rhino JKU was our first Rhino build, and was completed right after Rhino Jeeps first appeared on dealer lots in 2016.

    Rhino JKU - Exterior Accessories

custom-jeep-wrangler-rubicon-rhino-amp-research-power-stepsFor this build, we chose the 4.5" AEV lift kit and 37x13.50x17 Toyo Open Country RT Tires. The 37's are mounted to 17" AEV Salta Wheels. This gives the Jeep JKU a nice stance and proportional tire size for the lift height. The black color of the AEV accessories suit up well with the Rhino body color.

In addition to the wheels, tires and lift kit, we upgraded the lighting with JW Speaker Evolution J Headlights, JW Speaker Fog Lights, Recon turn signals, and JW Speaker 279 J Series Tail Lights. These lighting upgrades replace the OEM headlights, fogs, and turn signals. While OEM lights are not entirely inadequate, the aftermarket LED lights are far superior and are always a first preference for our shop builds. To round out the lighting, we mounted a pair of ARB 21 Intensity LED lights to the AEV Premium front bumper, to provide a nice light/spot pattern for a DD or off-road vehicle.

The bumper houses a Warn 8s Synthetic Winch. An AFE Y-Pipe and Banks Ram-Air Intake System allow this Jeep to make the most of it's 3.6L engine. Towards the rear of the Jeep, the AEV Premium Rear bumper carries the 37" spare with ease. Again, the Rhino is well-suited with the tires and AEV accessories, giving this Jeep a nice subdued look.Rhino JKU Rear BumperRhino JKU Build Red Diamond-Pattern Seat Accentscustom-jeep-wrangler-jk-rubicon-rhino-alea-leather-headrest-nappa

    Rhino JKU - Interior Accents

As you could guess, we didn't just upgrade the exterior. Luxury seating and interior accents are becoming a popular upgrade for modern Jeeps like the Jeep Wrangler JK. For the Rhino JKU, we chose Alea Custom Platini Nappa Leather in a two tone black with dark red stitching and red diamond-pattern seat accents. We also colored-matched the HVAC bezels, door trim panels and navigation trim pieces in red. The navigation system is an Alpine Restyle Kit featuring a 9" anti-glare touch screen. These accessory upgrades were very hot in 2016, and it looks like the 2017 buyers will continue the trend.Rhino JKU Build Interior Red AccentsStay tuned for more 2016 builds in our "2016 in Review" section!
