This radio utilizes a 1280x720 pixel display, offering double the picture quality of previous Restyle generations. The i509-WRA-JL offers easy-to-adjust EQ controls with basic and advanced tuning options integrating 13-band parametric adjustments, time correction, and many more EQ adjustments for those that want to dial in their audio experience. This radio works with FLAC files to give a lossless digital listening experience using Alpine's high-end quality components like custom capacitors and a fully digital power integrated circuit to provide a consistent and clean signal.

The i509-WRA-JL integrates wireless (and wired) Apple CarPay and Android Auto, allowing a high-quality wireless connection to your devices for streaming music, getting turn-by-turn directions from your desired map app, and much more. Both CarPlay and Android Auto work with voice commands that are activated by a specific word or pressing the "Voice" button on the headunit itself. Even though the i509-WRA-JL does not have a disc player, it still offers many ways to enjoy your media outside of CarPlay or Android Auto. When your phone is connected, the i509-WRA-JL is ready to stream music from your favorite platforms: Spotify, YouTube Music, Tidal, and many others compatible with CarPlay and Android Auto music streaming. Most users prefer to use Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, or similar for navigation as they give live traffic data and real-time information. Because of this, the i509-WRA-JL is designed with those in mind and optimized to be used with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto map apps for navigation instead of the built-in navigations that often go unused on modern radios. The unit is navigation compatible with the KTX-NS01 Navigation Module (sold separately) for those that want built-in maps and do not want to use their smartphone for navigation.
