2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Transformed Into a 6.4L HEMI-Powered Trail Weapon

What began life as a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon has been transformed into a purpose-built, HEMI-powered off-road machine designed to take on extreme terrain with confidence, control, and unmistakable RubiTrux style. This build keeps the spirit of the JK Rubicon intact while replacing nearly every major system with stronger, more capable, and more aggressive components.

At the heart of the build is a RubiTrux 6.4L HEMI conversion, giving this Wrangler the kind of power and throttle response that completely changes the personality of the Jeep. Paired with Kooks long tube headers, the 6.4L HEMI delivers a commanding sound and the performance needed to turn massive 42-inch tires both on the trail and on the street. An AEV heat reduction hood helps manage under-hood temperatures while adding a functional, aggressive appearance to the front end.

The suspension and axle package were built to handle serious abuse. A TeraFlex Alpine RT coilover suspension system gives the Jeep increased articulation, stability, and adjustability over rough terrain. Underneath, the factory axles have been replaced with heavy-duty TeraFlex assemblies: a CRD 60 wide rear axle and a Tera60 wide front axle with locking hubs. Both axles are equipped with 5.38 gears and ARB lockers, giving this Wrangler the strength, gearing, and traction needed for technical crawling and oversized tire control.

Steering was upgraded to match the scale of the build. A Red Head steering gear with added ports for hydraulic ram assist works with PSC hydraulic steering components, including a single-ended steering cylinder kit, hydro hose kit, and field-serviceable high-pressure fittings. A TeraFlex hydraulic ram assist tie rod clamp and rear sway bar further support the Jeep’s trail-ready handling and control.

The Jeep rides on Method MR106 beadlock wheels in matte black, measuring 17x9 with a negative 44mm offset and 8x6.5 bolt pattern. These wheels are paired with Method forged machined beadlock rings and black zinc beadlock hardware. Wrapped around them are massive Mickey Thompson 42x13.50R17 Baja Boss MT tires, giving the Jeep an unmistakable stance and the grip needed for mud, rocks, and loose terrain.

The exterior armor package is just as serious as the drivetrain. Motobilt components are used throughout the build, including 2-inch aluminum Crusher front and rear fenders, Crusher Series HD front bumper, front bumper skid plate, aluminum front inner fenders, Crusher Series rear bumper with light mounts, 8x6.5 spare tire carrier, and JK Crusher body armor with integrated step. These upgrades give the Wrangler added clearance, protection, and a rugged, trail-focused look.

Recovery capability comes from a Warn Zeon XD 10-S winch with a 10,000-pound capacity and synthetic rope, mounted up front and ready for demanding recovery situations. Lighting has been heavily upgraded with Baja Designs DOT LP6 LED headlights, Baja Designs LP6 LED driving lights, Baja Designs Squadron-R SAE LED fog lights, and Rigid D-Series Pro Midnight Edition flush-mount LEDs. Recon smoked LED front turn signals and smoked LED taillights complete the lighting package with a clean, blacked-out appearance.

Inside, the Jeep receives a premium refresh with an Alea Napa F1 leather interior, adding comfort and refinement to a build that is otherwise focused on performance and capability. An Alpine X209 Restyle head unit modernizes the cabin with upgraded infotainment, while an sPOD switching system provides clean control over the Jeep’s auxiliary electronics. A Bestop soft top and paint-matched half doors with soft uppers give the Wrangler open-air versatility while maintaining a custom, finished look.

From the RubiTrux 6.4L HEMI conversion to the one-ton TeraFlex axle package, coilover suspension, 42-inch Mickey Thompson tires, hydraulic ram assist steering, Motobilt armor, and premium lighting, this 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon has been built far beyond factory capability.
