828-773-5728Inside, this 2006 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon features the simple and functional cabin that made the TJ generation so popular. Factory Rubicon equipment included cloth high back bucket seats with easy access tip and slide functionality, a folding rear seat, carpeting throughout the passenger and cargo areas, a padded sport bar, tilt steering column, locking interior storage, air conditioning, and an AM FM CD stereo backed by a seven speaker audio system with a subwoofer. The straightforward controls, upright seating position, and removable top design give the interior the classic open air Jeep character while still providing the everyday conveniences expected from a late model TJ.
Finished in Bright Silver Metallic, this Rubicon wears one of the cleanest and most recognizable colors offered on the final year Wrangler TJ. The short wheelbase body rides on a 93.4 inch wheelbase and received Rubicon specific equipment including diamond plate rocker sill guards, 16 inch cast aluminum wheels, premium fender flares, fog lights, front and rear tow hooks, a full size rear mounted spare, and distinctive Rubicon hood graphics. The removable top body, exposed hinges, round headlights, seven slot grille, and compact proportions retain the traditional Jeep appearance, and 2006 marked the final year of production for the TJ generation before the Wrangler transitioned to the JK for 2007.
Power comes from Jeep's legendary 4.0 liter Power Tech inline six, a cast iron 3,956cc engine producing 190 horsepower at 4,600 rpm and 235 lb ft of torque at 3,200 rpm. In this Jeep it is paired with the six speed manual transmission and the Rubicon's heavy duty Rock Trac part time four wheel drive system with a 4 to 1 low range ratio. The Rubicon package also brought heavy duty Dana 44 axles front and rear, 4.11 axle gearing, driver selectable Tru Lok locking differentials at both ends, four wheel disc brakes, monotube shocks, and underbody skid protection. Together, those components made the TJ Rubicon substantially more trail capable from the factory than a standard Wrangler and make the 2006 4.0 liter, six speed Rubicon one of the most desirable factory configurations from the TJ era.
